Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino is set to unveil a three-year immigration plan today that sets targets for skilled workers, family reunification, and refugees.
Recognizing that immigration will be instrumental to both Canada’s short-term economic recovery and long-term prosperity, the Federal government has stated that the new plan will be tailored to the economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The plan is set to be tabled in the House of Commons at approximately 12:00 pm EST today with a news conference expected at 12:30 pm EST in Ottawa.
