Sherif is a lawyer and Founding Partner at Ashamalla LLP.  As a Canadian lawyer practicing exclusively in immigration and refugee law, Sherif founded the firm to assist his clients with the full range of immigration and refugee matters. Sherif assists clients from around the world with their immigration to Canada, and has extensive experience with matters pertaining to both inland refugee claims and overseas sponsorship. Sherif appears regularly before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada and the Federal Court.

Sherif graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and is called to the Ontario Bar. Before establishing his own firm in 2010, Sherif worked at the prestigious immigration law firm of Waldman & Associates.

Monique Ashamalla

Partner

Monique is a lawyer and Managing Partner at Ashamalla LLP.

Monique maintains a broad practice within refugee and immigration law with specific focus on appeals and judicial review. She has successfully argued several cases before the Refugee Appeal Division and the Federal Court.

Monique is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers.

Monique holds a B.Sc. (Hons) from McMaster University and earned her law degree from Queen’s University.

Nermine is a Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant with the firm.Nermine assists with all aspects of Canadian immigration applications, including all categories of permanent residence, temporary resident permits, and family sponsorship.

Brigitte Khayat

REGULATED CANADIAN IMMIGRATION CONSULTANT

Before joining Ashamalla LLP, Brigitte developed extensive experience with refugee matters at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Cairo Regional Office.  There, she spent five years as an Eligibility Assistant in the Refugee Status Determination Unit before becoming a Senior Resettlement Assistant.

In Toronto, Brigitte supported the Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP), where she developed further experience with Canada’s immigration and refugee process. Brigitte graduated from the American University in Cairo having majored in Political Science & International Relations, with a minor in Philosophy.
