Visitor Visas, or Temporary Resident Visas, are granted by the Canadian Embassy or High Commission in your country of nationality. Applications are submitted along with numerous supporting documents and an invitation letter from a relative or friend in Canada. A decision is often made within a few weeks.
Officers must assess many factors in coming to a decision about whether or not to grant a TRV, most significantly one’s establishment in the country of nationality and the likelihood of returning after the visit to Canada.
