Canada’s Student Direct Stream (SDS) is being expanded to include international students from Senegal and Morocco beginning on September 9, 2019.

The SDS process was first launched in 2018 to streamline the study permit process for students applying from China, India, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The program was further extended to students from Pakistan in July 2019.

The program will now include Senegal and Morocco to encourage more young French language speakers to choose Canada for their studies. Expanding the program to include these prospective students further support’s Canada’s Francophone Immigration Strategy.

Canada has become highly sought-after for top quality international education and post-graduate employment. In an all-time high, nearly 54,000 students transitioned to permanent residence in 2018.
