Canada introduces Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot

By January 31, 2019July 23rd, 2019No Comments

UPDATE: The deadline to apply for this pilot program was March 11, 2019. Applications are not currently being accepted.

Following the success of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot, first introduced in March 2017, Canada has announced the introduction of the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot this month.

The pilot tests a new community-drive approach to attracting and retaining newcomers. The program is open to communities across Ontario, the Western provinces and territories. By engaging organizations and partners in the process, as well as by addressing newcomers’ settlement and integration needs, the pilot aims to support newcomers in staying in these rural and northern communities.
